MAQUILLAGES FACILES

pour théâtre et fêtes

© 1994 by Dessain & Tolra, still available through the Publisher or on Internet

I expose in this book how to simply and easily do more than 40 characters from stage, screen or fantasy for children disguises or even more adult amateur theater : from Cyrano de Bergerac to Zeus-Jupiter, through fairies and cow-boys, Carmen's Toreador or classic clowns, Iago and Otello, a Maharadjah or the China Last Emperor, not forgetting artistic make-ups, bi-faced Janus type, and other flowers or small animals.

On the technical side, you'll see beauty, ageing, wax work to build-up a nose for once, a few appliances, artistic make-up, all this simple to do and good-looking.

Moreover, you'll learn how to make scars and beards as fake as they'll look real.

LE MÉTIER DU

MAQUILLAGE AU CINÉMA

Published as separate chronicles since June 2009 (more than one million visitors in less than 9 years), revised and increased several important new chapters and some illustrations (waiting for more) this book is now published along with my website and is meant for everybody : make-up artists indeed, but also directors (apprentices or more experienced) who need make-up but don't know what to ask for nor how to deal with it, in order to replace make-up in a more natural place, not fantasized but truly real.

Inside, will be found references and explanations on Make-up History, the differents makeup artists and make-ups in cinema, how to become a make-up artist, the socio-professionnal statute, how to design and prepare make-ups with the make-up artist and the wig-maker, the relationship with the continuity person, the make-up costs, how to solve the nagging question of so-called voluntary work, how to do appliances wounds and other pieces and masks, flat plates molds and two pieces moulds, in differents materials.

And, top question for make-up trainees, what are the Rules of the game to get and save a good position.

Those texts are not really a make-up technical course – actual specific training sessions are offered here – but rather a description of what really the make-up Artistry is and how to deal with it so that everything goes OK for everyone.
