UpThis pseudo Alien, in fact a man supposed to come back from 4800 AC, had to walk amongst the dicotheques audiences. The huge (2,8 l.) false skull had to be invisible and applied by the artist's wife all along a long tour in the South of France. Not easy to design, but it worked out well.
Mail FrançaisRichard GOTAINER, for his C.D. " La nuit Papou". Some interesting and funny rare things about this project : sculpting the nose with holes in it to hold the teeth (real ones, please!…), and getting bones pieces from my butcher and boiling them before inserting them in the earlobes… Fun !… The disk enveloppe picture was lately sent by the artist himself as a souvenir of this funny session, but I can't help remember the magazine where this article and photos were collected. Should you recognize your job, let me know and I'll quote you with pleasure, or take it out according to your wish…
Jean ROUGERIE, director of this play, asked me for a special reusable mask that the actress, Valérie DELBORRE, could apply herself in a quick change backstage make up. I designed this foam latex mask for her and she only had to paint some black around her eyes after a summary glueing, the sides edges being hidden by her gown and hair. On stage, it worked fine. It would demand much more time (and budget) to do this make up properly for motion pictures.
Les Juges du CielFANTASTIC
Up WelcomeFor this live TV broadcast, live from the Festival du Film Fantastique those make ups were improvised on location for 3 very long shooting days (instead of 5, due to weather conditions) with my stock pieces and rented wigs. One must always be able to get by with what's available, accordingto the circumstances. A real feast, despite tension and tiredness.
